Methi na Gota or Methi Pakora recipe is a gujarati tea time snack made from gram flour (besan) and fenugreek leaves.
INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon + more for deep frying gota
100 grams Gram flour (Besan)
½ Cup Fenugreek leaves (Meethi ni Bhaji)
5 nos. of Green Chilies chopped (Leela Marcha)
Pinch of Baking Soda (ENO)
Salt to Taste (Mithu)
½ teaspoon Coariander seeds crushed (Suka Dhana)
¼ teaspoon of Asafoetida (Hing)
½ teaspoon Black Pepper powder (Kada Mari)
½ teaspoon Carom seeds (Ajmo)
Water – as required to prepare dough
PROCEDURE
Take Gram flour, water and 1 teaspoon of oil in a bowl and mix well. Now add baking soda, salt, asafetida, crushed black pepper, coriander seeds, carom seeds, chopped green chili and chopped fenugreek leaves mix all ingredients well to make a batter. While mixing all ingredients make sure there are no lumps in the batter. Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat for deep frying. Now add batter to hot oil and fry till they become golden brown and then remove them on paper towel to remove excess oil from gota. Serve Methi gota hot along with some fried salted chilies, chopped onions and cup of tea.
